Hi everyone,
We had a bumper year in 2010, with so much great support and a few new activities we managed to raise $64,000 for the Burns Unit at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. With that mighty target to beat, we are aiming to make 2011 even better. After the success of Matty Cooper's Golbourn to Yass run leg, we are stretching the charity ride concept this year by welcoming Matt and Rob as full distance runners - yes that's right two "mad men" are going to run 400kms in 4 days! That's well over 2 marathons each day - I'd say that's a cracking start to our 2011 line up.
Dates have now been selected for this year and the route remains unchanged; we're leaving a little later than usual so the slightly cooler weather will be welcome. We will be leaving Campbelltown on Tuesday the 3rd of May and finishing in Wagga Wagga on Friday the 6th. We hope to see as many people en-route as possible to cheer us on!
As usual we will be doing fire demonstrations at local schools in all of the towns we stop in, as well as selling raffle tickets to help with fundraising. I'll post details of the school visits and the list of prizes for the raffle when they have been finalised.
